Working at scale for an agency, I don't really care about clients rankings, traffic conversions etc...

I care about doing my best for the client, maximizing all SEO efforts, so essentially ticking all the boxes, but after I tick all the boxes I don't care anymore, it's just on to the next client. It's actually quite nice to not obsess over what google chooses to do with the website, how well keywords rank, etc... Sometimes I think the worst part about working in SEO is obsessing over keyword rankings, conversions, GA metrics trying to squeeze out more juice when a lot of things are out of your hands. Google will do what it wants, users will visit, buy or not buy regardless of your amazing SEO. submitted by /u/crushplanets [link] [comments]

101. Tips on how to audit enterprise SEO

  • 3 days ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

I need help. I applied for an SEO Consultant role at an SEO agency. 1st interview was with an HR. 2nd interview was with the SEO managers. I managed to get to 3rd interview where we need to audit in just 3 days and present it to their full panel of managers. They want me to give an audit of Tommy Hilfiger's website. My problem is this role is for mid-tier level SEO for smaller to mid sized businesses but given that they're asking me to audit an Enterprise is I think beyond my level of experience. I'm asking for ideas/thoughts on how to even approach this. Thank you. submitted by /u/TechnicalHoney12 [link] [comments]

102. Do you have a long-term plan for when search engines stop driving traffic?

  • reddit.com language

My traffic is going down more and more, and getting traffic from ads is not a viable option, nor will it ever give me enough traffic as before. I know there's social media - but like search engines, they can cut me off anytime. My primary source of income is from ads, and I do sell some small merchandise on my site but the builk is from ads. What are other people's thoughts? submitted by /u/Djbabyboy97 [link] [comments]

103. Struggling to Get My New Shopify Store Indexed by Google

  • 3 days ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

I recently launched a Shopify store and I'm trying to get it indexed by Google. Before setting up Shopify, my custom domain was pointed to my Etsy store. After switching to Shopify, I submitted my sitemap.xml to Google Search Console to kick off indexing. A few days later, I checked back and saw an error saying the sitemap couldn’t be indexed because of a redirect. I assumed that was because the domain had previously redirected to Etsy. So I waited a few more days, re-submitted the sitemap, and checked again—same issue. The status said validation started on June 8, and the last update was June 9, but there’s been no progress since. To troubleshoot, I opened my sitemap.xml and added the individual collection pages from it directly into Google Search Console (rather than relying solely on the main sitemap). After doing this, Google showed that it found multiple pages in those collections. I thought that meant it was finally working. But even now, none of my pages are showing as indexed, even though the sitemap was processed successfully. I don’t want to manually submit every single product or page—but maybe that’s what I have to do? I also tried removing the property from my Google Search Console account and adding it again, thinking that might reset things. But when I re-added the property, everything came back in the same state—so that didn’t help either. It seems there’s no way to completely wipe and reset a property. Any advice on how to get Google to actually crawl and index my Shopify site would be hugely appreciated. I just want to get this store properly listed in search. submitted by /u/kohleebree3d [link] [comments]

The last five days, SEM Rush has said I've lost all my rankings for all my keywords? However, Google Search Console says, my rankings are the same as the previous week. (Although impressions and clicks are way down for these keywords.) submitted by /u/Mesmer7 [link] [comments]

There's a lot of marketing hype around AI tools promising to skyrocket your rankings. I'm skeptical and I want to hear from people who can point to a specific campaign or page and say, "Using this AI tool for this specific purpose directly contributed to a measurable win." What was the tool, what did you do, and what was the result? No fluff, just real-world case studies. submitted by /u/CatGPT42 [link] [comments]

111. Starting to sell SEO services. Advice?

  • 4 days ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

I just started to sell SEO services and have made two sales in two months. I have called 8 to 10 people and two agreed, which surprised me. I get a lot of generic SEO emails but as someone who has an online business, I have never had someone called me to sell SEO. I am new in SEO sales, but I am stating out and it seems the sales was easy. Was I just lucky or is there a lot of work in this business? Or does this mean SEO agencies are not working hard enough to call and prospect for new clients, especially cold calling. I don't even have a website and yet convinced two people to pay me for SEO. I thought this was a tough business to be successfully. Is this real or a fluke, What is going on ? Please share your experience. submitted by /u/DrewCanadian [link] [comments]

112. Launched Our Brand, But Google Shows Competitors for Our Brand Name — Need Advice

  • 4 days ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

We've recently launched our new product, Cure VPN, but we're facing an issue with Google search visibility. When searching for our product by name—either as "Cure VPN" or "CureVPN"—our competitors, Secure VPN and PureVPN, consistently rank at the top of the search results instead of us. This is causing confusion and making it difficult for users to find our official site. Has anyone dealt with a similar brand overlap issue before? What strategies or SEO tactics can help improve visibility for a newly launched product name, especially when it resembles more established competitors? submitted by /u/CanFormal3845 [link] [comments]

115. Large number of pages that were indexed have been removed, no idea why

  • 4 days ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

I have a new website and had a good number of pages indexed as I was manually submitting them. At the beginning of the month I went from 400 indexed pages to just 150. There was a sudden spike in 'Crawled - currently not indexed', that went from just 21 pages to over 300, a large number of which were previously indexed. When I go to an individual page, it says that it is indexed, however both the page section of GSC and Wix's own inspection say that they are not. Any ideas on what this could be? I have resubmitted my site map, tried validating and nothing has worked. I'm so frustrated as I was hoping to start improving my ranking on Google after publishing the site in January, but this is a massive setback submitted by /u/TheArtbookCollector [link] [comments]

117. "Useful content". How is it determined?

  • 4 days ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

We know from the meeting Google had with some bloggers post HCU that content in itself doesn't matter. Those invited had great sites otherwise they would not have been invited to that meeting it was said. Sites destroyed had also many, many links. So how does Google determines that a site needs to be slapped with the HCU label and essentially sent zero clicks? What do you guys think, is it manual raters, a certain site profile, usability stats or what? submitted by /u/GloomyNectarine2 [link] [comments]
