I have a website based in Taiwan, and all the keywords are in Traditional Chinese. However, in Google Search Console, I see that a large portion of the search impressions are coming from the United States. At least 60% of the search volume and various long-tail keyword queries are shown as coming from the U.S. Could you please explain why this is happening? submitted by /u/WeekOrnery8235 [link] [comments]

105. Google search is mysterious and I need help to understand it

I have a kind of new website and my target market is US. I have 1 major keyword and running ads for that keyword as well. Mysterious part is I hadn’t any single organic click for that keyword from US yet and impression is extremely low. Keyword is probably searched 10,000 times a day and my impressions is only 100 a day with 0 clicks. Also google shows that my rank is around 70 but whenever I search it myself I don’t see my website, I don’t see it even if I use VPN in US. But whenever I switch to another country on VPN and search for keyword I can see my website. How can I fix this issue and my website is going to be shown in US organically more often and I will gain some organic leads? submitted by /u/m_yildirim [link] [comments]

111. Is Generative Engine Optimization (GEO) replacing SEO?

  • 4 days ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

With AI tools like ChatGPT and Perplexity becoming people’s go-to for search, traditional SEO seems to be losing ground. Instead of ranking on google, it's now about being part of the AI’s response. GEO is about optimizing content so AI models pick it up in answers. No more page 1 now it’s be the answer. Anyone here shifting strategy toward this? Looking forward to hearing your thoughts. Let’s talk. submitted by /u/Radiant-Ad8475 [link] [comments]

119. I think google penalized my website within 3 weeks of creation. Want to hear your thoughts

  • 4 days ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

Hello, I think google penalized my website after 3 weeks in and I want to hear your thoughts about it. Here are as much details as this subreddits community guidelines allow. How I measure Manually google most critical keywords in target countries My site is targeted (server, database and storage location. Meta tag specification, other website listing mentions) for English speaking audience, primarily US and UK. Therefore, the most obvious way to check out how it's doing for your preferred keywords is to put those keywords into google search (try both via US and UK VPN as well as ask friends in those countries to do it for you). Check with google search API For those who know basic software engineering, I have google API enabled and do a simple search like params = { "key": api_key, "cx": cse_id, "q": query, "start": start } res = requests.get(url, params=params) Which then lists website for a given keyword. What I did within few days in, I started to generate some backlinks in a safest and the most legit way I could think of: Wrote an article on Medium ("Top 3 websites for XYZ" type of thing where I mentioned my website). Wrote an article on Devto ("How I built XYZ") Put my website on Hacker news Put it on free listing/PH alternatives How it went & Why I think it is penalized With around 10 days in, my website was listed (both in US and UK) on around 5th page of google search, verified couple of times, from my and my friends devices, VPN and cache cleared. After that, I started to notice that despite google search console still showing my rank as 50-60, on the same keywords, the website is not showing up in google searches (neither in US or UK). not getting listed at all (or rather not being visible on first 10 pages). Verified by all means listed above. On top of that the organic clicks dropped from 4-5 before to 0 for last few days. Suspicion That's the issue. I don't have ANY. I really tried to play it safe. Wrote few blogs were it was specifically mentioned that I am the creator of the website. Few long posts about actually useful stuff (proved by number of likes and complete strangers' comments) where I snuggled in my website but was in no way an anchor of the text or the main point. Since after those 10 days, I've done things that was only meant to boost backlinks not remove them The "Security Issues / Manual actions" page on search console says "No issues detected" and always showed this. Question Any pros here, anyone with real experience and knowledge or just about any person with better intuition than me, can you give any suggestions or potential reasoning? The niche I'm in is ai thumbnails. submitted by /u/gits97 [link] [comments]

120. AI Visibility Curve Is Breaking Traditional Rank Logic

  • 4 days ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

There’s some recent industry research that analyzed how AI systems (like ChatGPT and Google’s AI Overviews) choose what to cite. https://preview.redd.it/b7n42tcsvd6f1.png?width=1024&format=png&auto=webp&s=5e1ec5e81b3f25eaea29d4628bcee80b54429c31 Turns out, they’re pulling from the bottom half of traditional SERPs more than the top. It caught my eye because the sample size was big (500+ high-intent queries across models) Anyone shifting their strategy to include Reddit content, forum, or NLP-friendly paragraphs? I’m testing this out now, curious who else is experimenting. No links here due to subreddit rules, but it's making me rethink how I structure my content. https://preview.redd.it/ryl6iyouud6f1.png?width=1024&format=png&auto=webp&s=4fa227972780a4259cba74b1db5a711f5e26250d submitted by /u/Level_Specialist9737 [link] [comments]

122. SEM Rush Keyword Ranking - volatile?

  • 4 days ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

Hello - as of a few months ago, I was ranking top 3 consistently for my main keywords. As of the past month, I have noticed that my main keyword has been incredibly volatile in my SEM Rush reporting. Some days I am in the #2 spot, then the next day I will drop to spot #33. Does anyone have any insights on why this may be happening as well what the next steps would be? Prior to this past month, I was consistently in the top 5 for my main keyword. Thanks in advance! Looking forward to reading the responses. submitted by /u/pdx216 [link] [comments]
